Kathleen is fantastic to work with even from a distance. Our full-time home is in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. We started our home search with a visit to OBX in September. Kathleen had several houses lined up for us to see. She is very laid back and easy to work with. She had a lot of recommendations about the homes we saw including amenities renters appreciate most and upgrades/repairs likely needed with the properties. We did not choose a house that weekend and our search continued online and via FaceTime. Kathleen went out of her way to tour homes with us via FaceTime so we could keep up with the seller's market from afar. She gave us great advice through the offer process and was honestly as disappointed as we were when a couple offers were turned down. When we made an accepted offer, Kathleen, Alex and their team were fantastic in lining up all the details so we could make the most of our due diligence time. With the craziness of the OBX market this year, they really went above and beyond helping us secure an appraisal and deal with our mortgage lender. We truly cannot thank Kathleen, Alex and their team enough for helping us find our new home at the beach. We highly recommend working with them and we would definitely work with them again!

Kathleen and Alex helped me purchase my first home in 2019, and then sell it in 2021. Both of my experiences with them— buying and selling— have been absolutely amazing.
I have known their family for a very long time and can attest to what wonderful people they are outside of the professional arena, but my experiences working with them professionally, in the potentially stressful OBX real estate environment, were above and beyond even my expectations.
They are incredibly knowledgeable and outgoing, and they made buying and selling my home as stress-free as possible. Not only are they excellent with communication, but as an attorney, even I was impressed with their ability to negotiate, foresee problems and solutions, and effectively advocate on my behalf in ways I had not foreseen. Their tremendous experience with real estate was quite apparent in both of my dealings, and it gave me a great sense of peace knowing I was so well represented by such knowledgeable and caring people.
They helped me purchase my home for significantly less than asking price, and then sell it in a bidding war at significantly more than my listing price, and quite simply, I don’t think anyone else could have represented me as well as they did. Particularly when it came to selling my home: I truly don’t know how they made it as simple, straight-forward, and stress-free as it was. Their knowledge + experience + attentiveness set the bar very high for all my future real estate transactions (as I have unfortunately moved off the OBX).

Kathleen and Alex went above and beyond in every aspect of our OBX home-buying experience; from finding the perfect property and determining the right offer, to working through the complex closing process, to supporting us as first-time OBX rental home owners. We had been passively looking to buy an OBX rental home for over a year when Kathleen called us with news of a new listing that she thought would be perfect for us. Her deep knowledge of the local market – combined with a FaceTime video tour – gave us the confidence to put in an offer without ever seeing the home in person. Kathleen and Alex’s video tours were comprehensive but also impartial; they called out the highlights of the house as well as its warts. Their even-handedness gave us the confidence to know that we weren’t going to be disappointed once we saw the house in person. In fact, when we did finally arrive on the OBX, we both felt like the house was even nicer than we had expected!
Given that we were hundreds of miles away, Kathleen and Alex were invaluable throughout the closing process, keeping our closing on track and coordinating the various inspections (home, pool, elevator, pest, septic) needed. They were especially helpful with the home inspection. The home inspection found no major defects but identified dozens of smaller issues. Without Kathleen and Alex, we would have probably simply filed that inspection report away for a rainy day. They, however, proactively brought it to a handful of trusted local vendors to come up with estimates for every item on the list. This allowed us to go back to the seller with a strong case for a price adjustment, which was ultimately agreed to.
Speaking of local vendors on the OBX: there is a serious shortage of them! We’ve found that it’s extremely hard to get anything scheduled, let alone on short notice. It is a testament to the strong relationships that Kathleen and Alex have built over the years that everyone on the OBX is always willing to do a favor for the Argiroffs. People who know Kathleen and Alex love working with them. We sure did!
As first-time OBX rental home owners, there’s a lot that my wife and I don’t know about maintaining a property and working with a rental company. Thankfully, Kathleen and Alex know everything when it comes to Outer Banks real estate, and they’ve been extremely generous with their time in helping us get up to speed. Because of their shrewd advice, the house is already on track to generate more than enough income to cover its annual expenses and more. Even months after closing on the house, we continue to lean on them for advice on running our rental!
